Elbridge
Cleaves, a Weston resident, represents the southern-most area of southern
Aroostook County. His career in timber management provides SADC with
a wealth of information and expert advice on matters relating to this
area's most valuable resource, the northern Maine forest. He is a
former director of Prentiss & Carlisle, a timberland management firm,
a consulting forester, Registered Maine Guide, and owner/partner of First
Settler's Lodge, a four-season resort exemplifying the outdoor experience
of this area's best natural resource. In addition to his
professional duties, Elbridge has an impressive record of being involved
in many community affairs.
Brings a wealth of community knowledge to SADC from her various
proffesional positions and civic activities. She is the Community Relations Director
at Houlton Regional Hospital, a position charged with keeping the community informed about
the region's full-service health care facility and keeping hospital administration
informed about the community's health needs. She also serves on the boards of Vital
Pathways, the United Way of Aroostook, and County Health Link. At the state level,
Ann is the complaint officer for the State of Maine for the Board of Respiratory Care.
She is active in the Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce as a member of the
Membership Development Committee. Is a representative from the Upper Valley Economic Council, a group
organized to encourage economic developement benefitting the southern Aroostook towns of
Mt. Chase, Sherman Mills, Patten, and Staceyville. She is a board member of SAD25
and RegionII (Southern Aroostook Vocational Education), corporate board member of Katahdin
Valley Health Center and Vice-Chair of Rural Health Centers of Maine. Ruth's
background in the health care field and community involvement in economic issues provides
a significant contribution to SADC's mission.
